Success stories:

De La Salle HS

The Bald Faced Truth Foundation awarded a grant to De La Salle North Catholic High School. The funds will be used to pay for uniforms, sports equipment, venue fees and referee salaries in both boys and girls athletics. Most of the students come from families that live below the poverty line.

Izaya goes swimming

The Bald Faced Truth Foundation awarded a grant to Izaya, 11 and the son of a single mom who works two jobs. She doesn't have income enough to pay for co-curricular activities. The grant funds will be used to pay for the cost of his annual fees to participate in a swim club season.

PE equipment at Milwaukie HS

The Bald Faced Truth Foundation awarded a grant to Milwaukie High School for the purchase of sports equipment for Physical Education courses. The balls, bats, nets, whistles, pumps and more will be used to increase participation during PE classes.

$5,217 raised by Dutch Bros. Coffee

Dutch Bros. Coffee in the Portland area donated 100 percent of the proceeds from one day of business in an effort to help kids participate in activities. Jennifer Dryden from Dutch Bros. presented the good news, and a check, on 95.5-FM in January. Thank you Dutch Bros. for taking an interest in children in the area!

Portland's 95.5-FM "The Game" hosted a charity Radio-a-Thon benefitting the Bald Faced Truth Foundation on Nov. 20, 2009. The auction and fundraiser event raised $20,000 in donations from generous listeners. The kids of the community who will have increased opportunities are the real winners. The event was made possible by the Safeway Foundation. Also, KGW's Adam Bjaranson beat out the sports anchors from KATU, KOIN and Fox 12 in a celebrity bagging contest.

Football with a Heart at PGE Park Oct. 17

Special thanks to the 6,489 football fans who showed up at PGE Park and supported local kids programs in arts, music, education and athletics. Also, thanks to the 157 kindergarteners at Barnes Elementary who accepted a BFT grant during the game that will pay for a field trip that was canceled by the school district due to lack of funds. Also, thanks to the 50 kids at Sacramento Elementary School (above photo) who took the field during a break in the action and accepted a BFT Foundation grant for a weekly after-school physical education course.
